What’s the most rewarding thing about your research?

“I think the most rewarding thing for me is just the fact that I am doing something that somewhere down the line should have an effect for people. And that’s a bit personal as well because I was very close to my grandfather who passed away because of cancer. So just doing cancer research feels that at least I am doing something towards a cause that has an effect."

What’s the hardest part about your research?

“Well, research is hard in general. You hit dead ends. Things go well. Things don’t go well. You have ups and downs…it’s part of every PhD.”
